I bought my 1974 Cruiser in
1994 for $1K in stock condition except for the small block Chevy V8
conversion. Over the past 13+ years, much has changed.
ARB front with 4:10 gears, cut and turned
axles, Marlin 30 spline Longfield axels, Saginaw power crossover steering,
4 Skyjacker lift springs under axles, HD shackles.
In the rear is a 4:10 geared Toy LC axle
with a welded diff and a spring over with FJ55 rear springs which stretched
the wheelbase by 4, drum brakes and HD shackles.
A Warn 8274 sits up front in a custom home
built mount/bumper/stinger.
Under hood is a tired, but reliable, 350 V8
hooked to a SM465 trans and Toyota 4sp T-case. ON custom made engine
brackets is a York compressor that fills a 2.5 gallon air tank in back. It
is used to fill tires, air tools, and operates the ARB through a fully
pneumatic switch. A Quadra jet feeds the fuel through a Wind Stealth intake.
An early Ford Bronco radiator w/10 electric pusher fan cools the beast.
Duel red top Optima batteries get everything started.
Custom built 6 point rollcage with spare
tire mount, rock sliders, skid/belly plate, and a Hiem joint/DOM torque rod
built by me. Beard Super seats with 4 point TCI harnesses and a nice center
consol are built into the rollcage. Many other small things that I cant
remember. All of this rides on 35 BFG Mud T/As on 15X8 2 BS Rockcrawler
wheels.
