Vehicle: Original owner of his International Harvester Corp. 1980 Scout II (last year they were manufactured)

Purchased new for approx. $9,000 in June 1980, commonly referred to as GUS (Green Ugly Scout)

 Currently has following modifications: 304 CI IHC fuel injected V8 engine with AFI conversion (it originally had 196 CI 4cyl.)

Stock wide ratio 4 speed transmission. Stock Dana 300 with 4:1 Terra Low kit with twin sticks. hysteer conversion internal front

Stock Dana 44 axles with 4.56 gears and Detroit locker in the rear and ARB locker in the rear axle.

High steer with hydraulic assist ram to make steering easier.

He converted to GM style internal front hubs since stock Scout hub bolts tend to break and come loose a lot.

 Suspension lift was accomplished with a spring over axle conversion and 2 1/2" lift springs with a 2" body lift.

35" BFG tires on 10" wide magnesium wheels. He also has added a complete internal full roll cage and has custom

bumpers front and rear with a 12,000lb TX2 winch. Rocker bars protect the underside of the body and he also

built a set of 1/2 doors for warmer weather wheeling. A custom high clearance dual exhaust was also added to the list of goodies.
